Corrie Steckelberg is a multidisciplinary artist based in Minneapolis, MN. Working with textile sculpture and works on paper, she draws upon the mythological and folkloric symbol of the “animal” to explore and process her feelings and anxieties about relationships and the state of the world.
She’s also got hella lot of credentials, including dropping out of a pretty good art school, having her work purchased by a museum that owns a Sol Lewitt, having a residency at the Wassaic Project, receiving grants for Arrowhead Regional Arts Council, and The Minnesota State Arts Board, being an official judge of the Grand Marais Arts Festival and having her work in a bunch of juried group shows.
